About Aneurin Bevan

Making Every Contact Count (MECC) is a national programme that puts the protection and promotion of health and well-being at the heart of every contact. The aim is to use every opportunity with a patient to improve health and well-being by; motivating changes in behaviour, offering advice and support and if appropriate, referral to services.

Aneurin Bevan University Health Board are working towards a position where all staff recognise the vital role they can play in health improvement, and where discussion of key health behaviour is a routine part of all care. The Health Board has demonstrated its commitment to MECC by setting a target of training 10% of frontline staff each year.
