Behavioural Change Conversations

In late 2016 Public Health Wales NHS Trust (PHW) commissioned Beaufort Research to carry out independent research into health behaviour change conversations with the general public. The overall purpose of the research was to gain a greater understanding of the health behaviour change conversations that are taking place between health professionals and the general public in Wales. The research results will inform the improvement and future development of activity to enable health behaviour change conversations in Wales.

Department Of Health - Alcohol Guidelines Review – Report from the Guidelines development group to the UK Chief Medical Officers

In late 2012 the UK Chief Medical Officers commissioned two expert groups to consider whether previous alcohol guidelines should be updated. Both expert groups worked through 2013 and reported to the UK CMOs in February 2014. The group concluded that there is significant new, good quality evidence available on the effects of alcohol consumption on health, which was not available at the time of the 1995 review. This applies for both men and women. In particular, stronger evidence has emerged that the risk of a range of cancers, especially breast cancer, increases directly in line with consumption of any amount of alcohol.
