Help Me Quit support on No Smoking Day

Thursday, 14 March 2019

On No Smoking Day (13 March), Public Health Wales is reminding health professionals to refer smokers to Help Me Quit - the single point of contact in Wales for smokers who want to stop.
Organisations that are promoting No Smoking Day in Wales can direct smokers to the service, which is the best choice a smoker can make to kick the habit.

Smokers are four times more likely to quit with support from a service like Help Me Quit than by going it alone.

Ashley Gould, Consultant in Public Health for Public Health Wales, said:

“Help Me Quit is not a one-size-fits-all service to help smokers quit - it’s a tailored experience which involves smokers in shaping their quit journey in a way that’s right for them.

“It’s okay to ask for help.  Our team of dedicated advisors can support smokers to make the right quitting choice for them, whether that’s in a group, one-to-one, or over the phone.”
